Remote Learning Schedule and Expectations
Blended learning is when we mix learning at school and learning at home. This helps us keep the number of students in the school low, so we can stay safe and keep our distance. But, it also lets us talk to our teachers and friends in person.
When we're in school, teachers will teach us new things and help us in small groups. We'll also do activities to show what we've learned. On the days we're not in school, we'll have homework to do at home. This helps us practice what we learned in class.
Our teachers will be online for a short time every day to help us. If we have questions or need help with homework, we can talk to our teachers during these times.
Even when we're at home, we should finish all our assignments. We should check our virtual platform every day for updates from our teachers. We need to follow the schedule for live classes and also follow our IEP if we have one.
When we join online classes, we should be on time, dressed properly, and ready to learn. Let's make the most of our learning time!
Safety Procedures
Our school is doing a lot to keep everyone safe from COVID-19.
We will do random health checks to make sure everyone is healthy and follow the rules from the Department of Health. We'll also look out for signs of sickness and have plans to keep everyone apart.
Everyone, including adults and students, must wear masks, except if a student can't because of health reasons. Signs will remind us to wear masks.
We need to wash our hands a lot, especially before and after eating, after using the bathroom, and if we touch something yucky.
During drop-off and pickup, families should stay apart. Parents can't go inside unless they talked to the office first.
In the school bus, we'll try to stay with the same group of friends.
We can't have many visitors, and some meetings will be online. If someone needs to visit, they must talk to the office first.
When we come into the school, we'll check-in and get a nametag. We'll follow the arrows and stay apart in the hallways.
In class, we'll have signs showing how far to stay from each other. If someone is sick, they need to stay home.
If someone has COVID-19 or symptoms, they need to stay home for 14 days. We can contact the school by phone or email.
If we need a COVID test, we can find a place near us on the NYS Coronavirus Find a Test Site page.
Safety Precautions
To make sure everyone stays safe, our school is doing a lot of things.
We've asked everyone to wear masks, wash hands, and stay apart from each other. This helps to stop the spread of COVID-19.
We also made some changes in our school:
- We have fewer students in each class to make more space, following advice from health experts.
- We're making sure there's lots of fresh air by opening windows and checking ventilation systems.
- Our cleaning team is working hard to clean classrooms twice a day. Teachers also have wipes to clean things during the day.
- Bathrooms have extra soap, and teachers have hand sanitizer for the class. There are also hand sanitizer stations in common areas.
These steps are to keep everyone healthy and happy!
